Petite Sessions for 2011 – New York Family Photographer

Hey Everyone!

Pesach was amazing, great company, great food and finally at the end of the Yom Tov, great weather.  Hope it was great for you as well.

I can’t believe the school year is almost over.  I have 2 of my children graduating, my daughter is graduating High School and my son is graduating Elementary School.  So many milestones to celebrate.  I myself celebrated a special birthday this past March.  Over the Yom Tov, my family spent time looking back at our family albums and remembering the way we were and all the good times we’ve had.  That is what photos do for us, they bring us back to a time that is gone.  Families are living organisms.  My Father-in-law is IY”H going to be celebrating his 80th birthday this year and the family is putting together an album that includes all the kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.  Even as we work on it, a couple more are on the way and it will be outdated by the time its presented.  But still, as we are now, it’s important to document and celebrate.

This is where the Petite Sessions come in.  Every year should be documented and should mark the way you are NOW.  A full regular sessions offers opportunity to explore your family’s personality and individuality artistically, where as the Petite Session captures you NOW.

So if you booked a Petite Session last year, call me again this year.  I look forward to seeing you all again!

If you’ve never booked a Petite Session, try it!

I’m using new locations for a fresh look and I included one Brooklyn date.

Hello and Happy Spring (well, according to the calendar anyway)!

Don’t you just love that face?
I’m hoping that you won’t be able to resist it.

I need your help!

Nechama’s Closet was started in memory of Nechama Leiter and has been helping women and kallahs for the past 13 years.  They need your help to continue providing clothing to women in need.  Clothing can be very empowering and can give a person the courage and confidence to take charge of their lives.  We are not talking Prada here, we are talking about a decent outfit they can be proud to go to Shul in.
I’d like to give you an opportunity to win a free session and prints while helping these women in need.
I’m offering a free session via Nechama’s Closet Chinese Auction.
For just $15 you can enter to win a session, 16×20 print and more.
The auction is this Sunday, March 27, so don’t push this off,
you have until 6pm this Sunday.

And if you are not one to play your chances, here is one for you.
How does about a new image for your facebook, resume, business card or just for yourself sound?
How does it sound when 100% of your fee is going to a tax deductible organization?
How does it sound when it’s just $50?
How does it sound when it includes a JPG for you to upload and print to your hearts content?

Together with my shul I am raising funds to give to local families to help them out with Pesach, Maot Chitim.
So if you are a Real Estate broker, Personal Trainer or Representative for any company, this is for YOU!  If you are a young girl putting together your resume, this is for YOU!  If your last personal photo was your graduation photo or wedding photo, it’s time for an update and this is for YOU!
I know you want to do this, it’s for YOU – but you’re helping others.
No kids, just grown ups – because YOU are worth it!

The dates are Monday and Tuesday March 28 & 29.
RSVP for details.
UPDATE:  Congrats to C Eber for winning the session @ Nechama’s Auction.
Thanks to so many of you, we were able to raise over $750 for the Maos Chitim fund!

My Travels – Paris 2011

Globe trotting.  That’s my other passion.

My Mom was born in Paris and lived there until she married my Dad and moved to New York.  I had been there first when I was 16 years old for the summer.  What a great experience it was!

My cousin was getting married in Paris and it was the perfect excuse to plan a visit.  So my Mom, my daughter and I went to Paris.  We got to visit all the sites – the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, the Pompidou, the Opera, Gallery Lafayette, the Marais (former Jewish Ghetto and now trendy downtown area), the Montmartre, Musee to Orsay, walked along the Champs Elyees and the Palace of Versaille.  But these sights are besides the point, the point is walking on the cobble stone streets, listening to the language and taking in the beautiful architecture.

Not only that, the food was incredible.  The baguettes and pastries are mouth watering.  Crepes? Mmmmm.  We even got to go to Darjeeling, a well known kosher Indian style restaurant.

Paris ~ Je t’ aime!

So what is a typical session like?
There is no typical session.
But one thing it is always – is FUN!
I asked Detti to put a short video of me at work.
Detti of BSDfilms is a gifted story teller.
Using the video format she has the uncanny ability to record special moments and bringing it together, condensed to just a few minutes, for a touching,
memorable video experience all the while making sure that her subject are at ease and so comfortable they just forget that she’s recording.
To watch her videos is to be in the moment.
