Welcome to my Blog!

Welcome to my blog.  This is the place I post my latest work, get your feedback and keep you updated with what's going on at Dini Groner Photography.  My style as a photographer is very natural, I let kids be themselves and see where they lead me while I attempt to capture the beauty of the spontaneous.  The result is timeless images of fleeting moments in childhood that become a keepsake for years to come.

UPCOMING LOCATION SESSIONS, contact me for details:

Israel - July 2010

Los Angeles, CA - October, 2010

Jerusalem

I scheduled a couple of photo sessions while here in Jerusalem.  These adorable kids were visiting from NY.  We met in the Old City and used the arches and narrow streets as a backdrop.

Family Time – Israel 2010

We’ve been dreaming this trip for a while – we planned, researched and asked anyone who would give me the time of day for ideas and suggestions.  Now that we’ve been here over 2 weeks I can say that the experience has been beyond our wildest dreams.  Our apartment was rented via www.myjerusalemapartments.com and we uploaded the Israel map onto our GPS and at this point I can say we have been from tip to tip, from the border of Egypt in the South -Eilat to the border of Lebonon in the north- Galil.  Shopping at the shuk, walking the tunnels, dipping our toes into the waters, we are truly living & breathing Israel.  At one very scary moment, we drove through the Negev – desert, over one hour up and down the edges of the desert mountains, not a car insight until a group of military jeeps arrive head-on speeding down towards us – the only time our GPS led us wrong, but now we can say we have a new respect for the desert too.

For more photos and updates on my trip, friend me on facebook.

Until next time -

Shalom!

Thank you!

Last time I got together with this troupe I was treated to Iced Coffee.  See how they’ve grown and now there is a new addition!  This time I was treated to a gorgeous tray filled with cookies, decorated as airplanes and a message of ‘Bon Voyage’ on each of them – not only did they look great – they were also yummy – thank you!!

This was my last session before I leave for a month long vacation with my family.  We are leaving to Israel today.   This is something we’ve been planning for a long time – it’s hard to believe it’s finally happening.

I am currently booking sessions from July 27th and on.  The studio will be operating on vacation schedule.  Please email me (above link or dini@dinigroner.com)  for best correspondence, I will be returning emails with 72 hours.  I will also keep this blog updated with my adventures – stay tuned!

The Best Moments – Caught off Guard

Not wanting to crease his tie Yitzchok put it on at the session.  Not bad for a 13 yr old, no mirror in sight he got it straight on!

Gangster Style

This troop was comedy central throughout the session.  The guys in this posse were protesting a 40×60 canvas that went up 2 years ago of their lil’ sista.  Now they are demanding just as big billing from this session.  That’ll mean building an extension….

My son’s Bar Mitzvah

A couple of months ago I posted  these images of my son putting on his Tefillin for the first time.  Well that was just practice.  Yesterday we celebrated his big day.  It was an emotional and beautiful affair.  Stacey Betsalel, my party planner worked on all the details, making his day perfect.  Delicious food from Ave R Cafe, music by Yehuda Piamenta, a candy table, dessert table, ice cream bar, chocolate fountain and a delicious buffet that included sushi, cheese tray, focaccia with armenian string cheese – just delish!  Best of all the day was recorded on camera by Chaya Tenenbaum of Los Angeles and video by Detti Siklos of NY.

Here are a couple courtesy of Chaya Tenenbaum.

Special Occassion

I’m not an event photographer, but sometimes I get a call that I just can’t refuse.  One of my regular clients called me, her Grandmother -Bubby was going to be 80 years young and the family was going to throw a surprise party for her (personally, I would never surprise anyone over the age of 78, but that’s for a different post).

Bubby went to the city to shop for a handbag with her daughter. Slyly, at the appointed time her daughter suggested they stop at her brothers apartment on Central Park South, NYC, for a little rest.  When Bubby stepped out of the elevator on the 19th floor she was greeted by her 3 children and 20 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.  It was BEAUTIFUL.

Since Bubby LOVES photos and everyone was together, the idea was to get photos of everyone so they could create a beautiful keepsake for her to enjoy.  The party location was on Central Park South and the original plan was to take photos on the terrace or the park.  The terrace was ruled out by the building management so it left the park.  Now I ask you, try getting 52 people down the elevator, across the street and setting them up etc…  I had different plans.  I scouted the available apartments to see which one I could use to take the family portraits and when I was shown an apartment facing the park on the 27th floor that was under construction I knew I had the perfect place.  It had the SWEET LIGHT.  All photographers know what the sweet light it, it’s the dawn and dusk lighting, the room that has open windows and gorgeous lighting.  It was pretty amazing!

Here is the gorgeous view from the apartment I used.
